Chester and Wilma Bauer of Butler celebrated 50 years of marriage with a family dinner June 24 at the Herman Fire Hall.

The former Wilma Kuhn married Bauer on June 24, 1954 at St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church in Herman.

They have 12 children, Louis Bauer of Brooklyn, N.Y.; Marie Baronetski of West Sunbury; Gary Bauer of Burlington, Ky.; Linda Mazzanti, Raymond Bauer, Barbara Gibson, Les Bauer and Howard Bauer, all of Butler; Ruth Jamison of Salem, Va.; Walter Bauer of Evans City; Dave Bauer of Hilliards; and Charles Bauer of Chicora.

They also have 30 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Bauer is retired from Bauer Excavating in Butler. He is a member of the VFW, the American Legion, the Roman Catholic Men's Club and the Herman Volunteer Fire Department.

Mrs. Bauer is a homemaker and retired secretary and treasurer of Bauer Excavating.

The couple attends St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church.
