Charles and Florence Gross of Zelienople celebrated 50 years of marriage with a open house celebration with a surprise buffet and entertainment on June 5. The event was hosted by their children and their families.

The former Florence Eppinger married Gross on June 12, 1954 at St. Peter's Reformed Church in Zelienople.

They have four children, Col. Alan Gross of Burke, Va.; Mrs. Nath (Diane) Grinder of Zelienople; Dr. Wayne Gross of North Canton, Ohio; and Robert Gross of Morrisville.

They also have five grandchildren.

Gross is retired from Babcock and Wilcox where he worked as a controller. He is a past president of the Community Park Association Board and the Zelienople Library Board.

Mrs. Gross is a housewife.

The couple attends St. Peter's Reformed Church where Gross is an elder, past treasurer and secretary, and Mrs. Gross teaches Sunday school and Bible school.
