Clinton and Evelyn Rader

Clinton and Evelyn Rader of Connoquenessing celebrated 60 years of marriage recently with a surprise family dinner at Shakespeare's Restaurant in Ellwood City.

The former Evelyn Gilliland married Rader on Aug. 16, 1946, at the home of the bride's parents in Evans City.

They have four children, Karen Lyons of West Sunbury and Myrna Robson, Deborah Schettler and Harold Rader, all of Connoquenessing.

They also have 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Rader is retired from Spang and Company, where he worked for 36 years in the shipping department. He is a member of the Spang Men's Breakfast Group.

Mrs. Rader is a homemaker. She is the former leader of the Connoquenessing 4-H organization. She is currently a member of the Connoquenessing Ladies' Card Club.

Both are lifetime dairy farmers. Rader is still active on the family farm.

The couple attends White Oak Springs Presbyterian Church, where Mrs. Rader serves as a deacon.
