Baker 50th anniversary

Paul "Jay" and Catherine Baker of Butler celebrated 50 years of marriage recently with a dinner for family and friends at Natili's Restaurant and Lounge in Butler and a dinner at the home of their friends.

The couple was united in marriage on Aug. 28, 1954 at St. Mary's Church in New Castle.

They have two children, Mary "Cathy" Baker and John F. Baker, both of Butler. They also have two grandchildren.

Baker retired from Armco Steel in 1990 after working for 42 years. He enjoys golf and playing cards and is a member of Elks Lodge 170 and Moose Club 64 of Butler and American Legion Post 778 of Lyndora.

Mrs. Baker is a homemaker. She is a member of the Moose Auxiliary, American Legion Post 778 Auxiliary and quilting club at Cornerstone Baptist Church. She enjoys playing cards and bingo.

The couple belongs to St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church.
