Fred and Ruth Kriess of Connoquenessing Township celebrated 55 years of marriage recently with a family dinner at the Foxburg Inn in Foxburg.

The former Ruth Kinker married Kriess on Oct. 4, 1949.

They have three children, Fred Kriess Jr. of Glendale, Ariz.; Kathy Johns of Renfrew; and Tracy Kriess of Phoenix.

They also have seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Kriess is retired from Armco.

Mrs. Kriess is retired from T.W. Phillips Gas.

The couple belongs to St. John's Reformed Church.
