Jackson 50th anniversary
William and Janice Jackson of Butler will celebrate 50 years of marriage with a trip to Buffalo, N.Y. and Niagara Falls in Ontario, Canada, in late November.
The former Janice Mayhew married Jackson Aug. 20, 1954, in Buffalo.
They have two children, Rosalie Scott of Vandergrift and Bill Jackson of Lyndora.
They also have four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Jackson is an Army veteran. He retired from the Armco weld shop in Butler in 1991. He is a member of the Michael Kosar American Legion Post 778, Lyndora; the NAACP; and the Western Pennsylvania and Ohio mushroom societies.
Jackson is a Baptist and attends chapel at the Butler Veterans Affairs Medical Center, where he helps assist non-ambulatory patients.
Mrs. Jackson is a homemaker. She belongs to the National Wildlife Federation and is a life member of the Tanglewood Senior Center.
Mrs. Jackson is a member of North Main Street Church of God.
The couple belongs to the AARP.
