Miriam Young of Evergreen Nursing Center in Harmony, celebrated her 100th birthday with a family dinner.

The former Miriam Britsch was born Nov. 20, 1904, in Chambersburg. She married Dr. William Young in 1925. He is deceased.

She has two children, Miriam McCaslin of Eau Claire and William Young of Beaver Falls. She also has five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A retired nurse, she served in a military hospital during World War I.
