James Grossman of West Sunbury, will celebrate his 90th birthday with an open house from 1 to 4 p.m. Jan. 9 at the Snowmobile Club, Old Brick Road, Hilliards.

Grossman was born Jan. 9, 1915 in West Sunbury. He married Ruby Grossman on July 17, 1937. She is deceased.

He has four children, Delores Grossman and Melvin Grossman, both of Hilliards; Sam Grossman of West Sunbury; and Larry Grossman of Slippery Rock. A son, Richard Grossman, is deceased.

He also has 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Grossman retired in 1980 from Sunbeam Coal, where he worked as a welder.

A veteran of World War II, he is a lifetime member of the American Legion and was an avid raccoon hunter for many years.
