Myrtle Wigton of Petrolia celebrated her 96th birthday on Friday.

The former Myrtle Watson was born March 4, 1909 in Cabot. She married Charles Wigton Sr. on Nov. 28, 1934. He is deceased.

She has two sons, Donald Wigton of Phoenix and Charles Wigton Jr. of Florissant, Mo. She also has 10 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. One grandson is deceased.

Mrs. Wigton enjoys receiving cards and letters and baking. She is a member of the Bruin United Methodist Church.
