UNIONTOWN — Authorities say a Western Pennsylvania county commissioner was injured in a shooting at his home.

A Fayette County emergency dispatch supervisor said a male called 911 at about 1 a.m. Sunday and said 55-year-old Vincent Vicites had been shot at the South Union Township residence.

Officials said Vicites was flown to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va.

District Attorney Richard Bower told a Pittsburgh newspaper that Vicites was in stable condition at the hospital.

He declined comment on the investigation, and state police have released no details.

Vicites, a Democrat from Uniontown, served four terms as a commissioner from 1996 to 2011. He ran again for the board last year and won a seat in November.
