James and Shirley Fetterhoff of Mars celebrated 50 years of marriage with an open house at Mars Alliance Church.

The former Shirley Black married Fetterhoff on May 21, 1955, at Glade Run Presbyterian Church.

They have five children, David Fetterhoff of Mars; Dennis Fetterhoff of Butler; and Pamela Huber, Lisa Lee and Renee Fetterhoff, all of Valencia.

They also have nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Fetterhoff is retired from People's Natural Gas.

Mrs. Fetterhoff is a homemaker.

The couple belongs to Mars Alliance Church.
