Richard and Gertrude Werth of Butler celebrated 65 years of marriage Sunday with a family reunion at Hempfield Park in Greenville. The couple also plans to celebrate with a trip later this summer.

The former Gertrude Gibson married Werth on June 26, 1940, at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Winchester, Va.

They have seven children, James Werth of Longwood, Fla.; William Werth of Sharon; Robert Werth of Las Vegas; John Werth of Amherst, Ohio; Thomas Werth of Butler; Carol Greenberg of Merced, Calif.; and Joyce Werth of Modesto, Calif.

They also have 21 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Werth is retired from Armco Steel. He enjoys art.

Mrs. Werth is a retired realtor. She enjoys gardening.

The couple belongs to St. Paul Roman Catholic Church. They enjoy traveling.
