John and Gisele Eiler of Petrolia celebrated 60 years of marriage recently with a family dinner at Natili's Restaurant in Butler.

The former Gisele Cedard married Eiler on Sept. 8, 1945, in Paris.

They have seven children, Joanne Shay of Palm Springs, Fla.; Danny Eiler of St. Leonard, Md.; Dixie Vensel of Bremerton, Wash.; Michael Eiler of Petrolia; Christine Eiler of Butler; Laurie Thompson of Boyers and Jeffrey Eiler of Panama City, Fla. Another daughter, Jennifer Eiler, is deceased.

They also have 23 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Eiler retired in 1979 from Koppers in Petrolia after 30 years. He served as the manager of VFW Post 7073 in Parker for 16 years.

Mrs. Eiler is a homemaker.
