Clarence and Margaret Gillman of Butler celebrated 50 years of marriage with a family dinner in Manassas, Va., and a Mass at St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church in Butler.

The former Margaret Staryat married Gillman on Oct. 8, 1955, at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler.

They have a son, Kyle Gillman of Manassas. They also have three grandchildren.

Gillman is retired from Pullman Standard and General Dynamics. He is a member of the Marine Corps League and volunteered with Meals on Wheels for 10 years.

Mrs. Gillman is retired from the Clarence Brown School, where she worked as a teaching technician for 15 years. She is active with Meals on Wheels, the Gray Ladies and Young Mothers in Ohio.

The couple belongs to St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church.
