Kroneberg 95th birthday
David Kroneberg of Cabot celebrated his 95th birthday recently with a family dinner at the Saxonburg American Legion.
Born Nov. 10, 1910, in Marwood, he married Martha Petrak. She is deceased. He later married Sandy Carter.
Kroneberg is the stepfather of Col. John Carter of the Air Force, stationed in Osan, Korea, and Mary Carter, Luke Carter, Matthew Carter and Joseph Carter, all of Charlotte, N.C.
He also has two step-grandchildren.
Kroneberg retired in 1976 after 42 years with Allegheny Ludlum Steel in Brackenridge. He also worked as a dairy farmer.
A veteran of the Army, he served in Africa, Europe and in the Pacific during World War II.
He is an active volunteer at the Butler Veterans Affairs Medical Center, he was named Butler County Veteran of the Year in 1996.
Kroneberg calls weekly bingo at the American Legion in Saxonburg, where he is a member and post service officer. In the legion, Kroneberg has also served as a post commander and Butler County Commander. He continues to serve as a district deputy commander.
He is also a member of the Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Department, the VFW Post 7376, Butler County 40 and 8 and the United Steel Workers.
He is a lifetime member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Cabot.
