Wellman 60th anniversary
Herbert and Madeline Wellman of Butler celebrated 60 years of marriage recently with a family dinner.
The former Madeline D'Amico married Wellman on Dec. 3, 1945, at St. Donato Roman Catholic Church in Philadelphia.
They have five children, Herbert Wellman Jr. of Sarver; Mary Anne Bryndal of Eden Prairie, Minn.; Robert Wellman of Butler; Paul Wellman of The Woodlands, Texas; and Timothy Wellman of Bradenton, Fla.
They also have nine grandchildren.
Wellman is retired from Riverside Manufacturing in Moultrie, Ga., where he worked as a sales representative. A member of the Merchant Mariners of Pennsylvania, he attended the Merchant Marine Academy and served for two years during World War II. He later served in the Army for two years as a warrant officer with the Amphibious Engineers. He is also a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Mrs. Wellman is a homemaker. She is a member of the Where the Corners Meet quilting Guild.
The couple belongs to St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, where Mrs. Wellman is a member of the Ladies Guild.
