Angelo and Angela Monfre of Butler will celebrate 50 years of marriage Wednesday with a family dinner.

The former Angela Nanni married Monfre on Feb. 8, 1956, at Santa Maria della Grazie Church in Rosciolo dei Marsi, Italy.

They have four children, Jolene Willard, Timothy Monfre, Fontaine Seezox and David Monfre, all of Butler.

They also have five grandchildren.

Monfre retired from work as a hair dresser after 52 years. He worked at Angelo's Beauty Salon in Butler. He enjoys drawing, painting and cooking.

Mrs. Monfre is also retired. She worked as a cafeteria monitor at Emily Brittain Elementary School and the Butler YMCA Childcare Center. She likes to sew and crochet.

The couple belongs to St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Butler.
