Ruth Dietrich of Portersville celebrated her 80th birthday recently with a surprise party attended by family and friends.

The former Ruth Moyer was born March 13, 1926, in Harmony. She married Carl Dietrich on March 18, 1945. He is deceased.

She has five children, Carolyn Pyle of Butler and Marjorie Bowser, Jane Kradel, Barb Eisler and Randy Dietrich, all of Portersville. She also has 14 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Dietrich is a former employee of Zayer's Department Store.

Amember of the Portersville Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, she enjoys crochet, embroidery and crafts.
