Curry, 80th birthday
Richard Curry of Butler celebrated his 80th birthday recently with a family dinner at the Springfield Grille.
Curry was born April 2, 1926, in Jefferson Center. He married Mary Nichter of Aug. 15, 1947. She is deceased.
He has three children, Pamela Dorcy and Debra Ocvirk, both of Butler, and Richard Curry of Ashburn, Va.
He also has five grandchildren.
Curry is a retired foreman from the processing maintenance department at Armco.
He belongs to St. Peter Roman Catholic Church and is a past president of the Butler Armco Management Club. He is also a member of the VFWPost 249 and the Disabled American Veterans.
Curry is the author of "Butler County Heroes of WWII" and"Family Letters From the Greatest Generation." He also wrote a history for the VFW Post 249 and the Disabled American Veterans.
