The Snyders in 1956

Robert and Norma Snyder of Butler celebrated 50 years of marriage recently with a surprise dinner with family and friends at the Kaufman House. The event was hosted by the couple's children.

The former Norma Hariff married Snyder on April 20, 1956, at West Sunbury United Presbyterian Church.

They have three children, Pamela Snyder of Lexington, Ky.; Thomas Snyder of Matthews, N.C.; and James Snyder of Butler.They also have two grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and a step-great-grandchild.Snyder retired from Armco in 1992.Mrs. Snyder is a retired registered nurse. She is a life member of the Nurses Alumni organization at Butler Memorial Hospital.The couple belongs to Faith United Presbyterian Church.
