Donald and Donna Jewart

Donald and Donna Jewart of Oakland Township celebrated 50 years of marriage recently with a surprise dinner party hosted by their children at Happy Hunters Sportsman's Club.

The former Donna Mission married Jewart on May 19, 1956, at the parsonage of North Butler Presbyterian Church in Boydstown.

They have five children, Lonny Jewart, Lee Jewart, Lane Jewart and Leasa Covert, all of Oakland Township, and Larry Jewart of East Brady.They also have 10 grandchildren.Jewart retired from Oakland Township after 23 years as the road master. He enjoys hunting, fishing and camping.Mrs. Jewart retired in 1989 after working for 10 years at Montgomery Ward in the fashion department. She enjoys camping and reading.
