Cavanaugh 60th anniversary
Joseph and Martha "Mar-Bet" Cavanaugh of Butler celebrated 60 years of marriage recently with a family dinner at the Runway Restaurant and Lounge in Penn Township.
The former Martha Wood married Cavanaugh on May 18, 1946, at Holy Family Church in New Rochelle, N.Y.
They have three children, Kevin Cavanaugh of Mount Lebanon, Patrick Cavanaugh of Worthington and Maureen Gizienski of Butler. Two sons, William Cavanaugh and Michael Cavanaugh, are deceased.
They also have 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Cavanaugh is a retired salesman and former part-owner of Mar Industrial. He was a former board member for the Butler Symphony.
Mrs. Cavanaugh is the retired president of Mar Industrial. She is a member of the Butler Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and the General Richard Butler chapter of the Daughters of The American Revolution.The couple belongs to St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, where Mrs. Cavanaugh is a member of the Women's Council and Cavanaugh formerly served as a production manager, usher and board member.
