William Stoughton of West Sunbury, celebrated his 90th birthday with an open house Saturday at Muddy Creek Presbyterian Church.

Stoughton was born March 26, 1917, in West Sunbury. He married Mabel Kummer on May 6, 1947. She is deceased.

Stoughton has two children, Pamela Hartman of West Sunbury and Daryl Stoughton of Alexandria, Va. He and his wife also raised a granddaughter, Shannon Hartman of West Sunbury. Ason, Billy Stoughton, is deceased.

Stoughton is retired from Bessemer and Lake Erie Railroad, where he worked as a foreman. He has also been employed as a school bus driver with Campbell Bus Company and as the secretary of Clay Township.
