Roy and Marceda Deal of East Butler will celebrate 55 years of marriage Thursday.

The former Marceda Wonderly married Deal June 21, 1952, at Hill United Presbyterian Church in Butler.

They have six children, Debbie Schulter, Roy Deal Jr. and Kathy Deal, all of Butler; Terry Deal Sr. of Karns City; Daniel Deal Sr. of Penn Township; and Marcia Grates of East Butler.

They also have 17 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Deal is retired from Sunbeam Coal Company, where he worked as a mechanic.

Mrs. Deal is a homemaker.

The couple belongs to Faith Fellowship Alliance Church in Oakland Township. At the church, Deal serves as a greeter and usher and Mrs. Deal served as head deaconess for many years. She also serves as a visitor to shut-ins from the church.
