Jones 50th anniversary
Ralph and Esther Jones of Mars celebrated 50 years of marriage recently with a dinner for family and friends in Economy. They also celebrated with a two-week tour to England, France and Germany in June.
The former Esther Hollenberger married Jones Aug. 24, 1957, at St. Athanasius Roman Catholic Church in West View.
They have six children, Ruth Trumbetta of Greensburg; Esther Seebacher and Becky Tyson, both of Slippery Rock; Shirley Lawther and Rosemarie Streb, both of Mars; and Janet Gilson of Economy Boro.
They also have 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Jones is a retired farmer. He belongs to the Kiwanis Club.
Mrs. Jones is a retired tax collector and bus driver.
The couple belongs to St. Kilian Roman Catholic Church in Mars. They are also members of the Mars Historical Society, the Butler Farm Bureau and the Mars AARP.
