STATE COLLEGE - Bob Mitinger, who played linebacker for the San Diego Chargers in the 1960s, has died. He was 64.

Mitinger died Saturday at Mount Nittany Medical Center, his family said. He had been ill for two years.

Mitinger, a Greensburg native, was an All-American at Penn State University. He appeared in 42 games for the Chargers in 1962-64, 1966 and 1968.

He worked for the American Football League Players Association from 1968 to 1970. He started his own law firm in State College in 1984.

Katie Jewart had 10 kills and 10 assists and Autumn Burke had 10 kills as the Butler County Community College volleyball team dispatched host Westmoreland County Community College 30-13, 30-12, 30-12 Monday.Sarah Morley added 22 assists for the Pioneers.BC3 (15-3, 11-0 in the WPCC) will return to action Wednesday when it hosts Potomac State.

Butler resident Jordan Foley is the starting quarterback for Shady Side Academy as a sophomore this season.Foley has completed 27 of 56 passes for 478 yards and five touchdowns.

Megan Sinicki, 28, of Mars won the female division of the City of Pittsburgh Great Race Sunday.Sinicki ran the 5-kilometer portion of the race in 19 minutes.

Joe Boros of Treesdale Golf and Country Club and John Aubrey Sr. of Aubrey's Dubbs Dred each fired a 71 for a three-way tie for sixth place at the LAZART Classic at Oak Tree Country Club in West Middlesex Monday.Gordon Vietmeier of Mt. Lebanon Township Golf Club won with a 7-under par 64.Boros, of Saxonburg carded a 36-35 while Aubrey of Butler had a 34-37.Aubrey's 71 gave him the victory in the senior event, while St. Jude's Ron Milanovich placed seventh (35-40-75)Butler's Rob McClellan of Olde Stonewall (34-39-73) tied for 17th place.
