Garfield and Dorothy Timmis

Garfield and Dorothy Timmis, residents of Lund Care Center at Concordia Lutheran Ministries in Jefferson Township, celebrated 70 years of marriage recently with a special dinner.

Timmis married the former Dorothy Sheffer on Sept. 25, 1937, at United Methodist Church in Boyers.

They have one daughter, Sherry Schatz of Phoenix, Ariz.

Timmis is retired from U.S. Steel Archives in Boyers, where he was a supervisor.

Mrs. Timmis is a retired deputy for the Butler County Sheriff's Office.

The couple belongs to First United Methodist Church on East North Street.
