Jean and Ray Silvis

Ray and Jean Silvis of West Sunbury will celebrate 50 years of marriage this week with a family dinner at Garden Gate Restaurant.

Silvis married the former Jean Claypoole on Oct. 12, 1957, at Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Church in Chicora.

They have three children, Michael Silvis of Pittsburgh, Christina Sloan of West Sunbury and Alan Silvis of Meadville. A daughter, Pamela Wagner, is deceased.

They also have six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Silvis is retired from Penreco. Mrs. Silvis is a homemaker.

The couple belongs to Open Door Baptist Church and the Young at Heart Club.
