Stevenson 90th birthday
Veva "Tootie" Stevenson celebrated her 90th birthday with an open house and card shower Oct. 7 at the Prospect Fire Hall, attended by more than 365 family and friends. Stevenson performed with the Evans City Cloggers during the event.
The former Veva Herold was born Oct. 7, 1917, in Center Township. She married George Stevenson Jr. on Jan. 1, 1937. He is deceased.
She has four children, Nancy Johnston of Columbus, Ohio; George Stevenson III and Alberta "Berdie"Slater, both of Prospect; and Ruth Gordon of Ringgold.
She also has nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. One grandchild is deceased.
Mrs. Stevenson is a homemaker.
She belongs to the Beersheba Church of Prospect, the Jolly 1917ers, the Evans City Senior Center, Mount Chestnut Senior Center and the Evans City Cloggers.
