Agnes and Fred Gerner

Fred and Agnes Gerner of Cabot will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary Sunday with a family gathering and dinner.

Gerner and the former Agnes Walters were married Oct. 28, 1942, at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Cabot.

They have two children, William Gerner of Etters and Judy Moser of Cabot. They also have five grandchildren, a step-grandchild, four great-grandchildren, and a step-great-grandchild.

Gerner is a veteran of the Army and is the retired owner of Fred Gerner Trucking, Gerner Trucking, and Roy A. Gerner and Sons Trucking.

Mrs. Gerner is also retired from the family trucking companies, serving as co-owner and bookkeeper.

The Gerners are lifelong members of St. Luke's Lutheran Church, where Gerner is a former member of the church council and Mrs. Gerner taught Sunday School, vacation Bible School, and was active in women's circles.
