The Smiths in 1948

Leroy and Myrtie Smith of Butler celebrated 60 years of marriage recently with a family dinner at their home.

The former Myrtie Campbell married Smith on Jan. 3, 1948, in Butler.

They have five children, Gary Smith and Jay Smith, both of Butler; Kristine Lutton of Pottstown; Claudia Shirk of Batavia, N.Y.; and Drew Smith of Lynn Haven, Fla.

They also have 14 grandchildren.

Smith is retired from Wise Machine Company.Mrs. Smith is retired from Butler Memorial Hospital, where she worked as a registered nurse.The Smiths are members of First Baptist Church.
