The Curtises in 1948

Lawrence "Curtie" and Eileen Curtis of Chicora celebrated 60 years of marriage with an open house July 6 in Chicora.

Curtis married the former Eileen Young on July 5, 1948, at the Mater Dolorosa Roman Catholic Church in Chicora.

They have three children, Larry Curtis of Chicora, Kathy Franko of Butler and Margie Hoover of Chicora.

They also have nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.Curtis is retired from Penreco.Mrs. Curtis worked for the Holiday Inn and is a member of the Christian Mothers.The couple are members of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in North Oakland.
