PITTSTON — Hundreds are expected to attend the funeral in northeastern Pennsylvania for state Trooper Joshua Miller.

The 34-year-old father of three will be remembered today at a service at Pittston Area High School, his alma mater.

Miller was fatally shot Sunday night in the Pocono Mountains in a gunfight after a 40-mile, high-speed chase.

The man Miller was chasing, Daniel Autenrieth, was also killed.

Another trooper, Robert Lombardo, was shot in the torso but survived. He and Miller are credited with saving Autenrieth's 9-year-old son.

Miller was the first trooper since 2005 to be killed in the line of duty. Hundreds attended his viewing at the school Thursday.

SHANKSVILLE — Today is the deadline set by the U.S. government to get all the land needed for the Flight 93 memorial in Western Pennsylvania without using eminent domain.National Park Service acting Director Dan Wenk said Thursday the land owners and the government have been working together all week to get the transaction done without seizing the land.Last week, Interior Secretary Ken Salazar said the government would use eminent domain if deals aren't worked out by Friday.Flight 93 was hijacked by terrorists on Sept. 11, 2001, and crashed in rural Somerset County.
