The Thomases in 1949

William and Ann Thomas of Butler celebrated 60 years of marriage with a trip to Laughlin, Nev.

Thomas married the former Ann Vavro on Feb. 12, 1949, at St. John Roman Catholic Church in Lyndora. They have three children, William Thomas Jr. of Pembroke, Va., and John Thomas and Albert Thomas, both of Butler.

They also have six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Thomas is retired from Armco Steel. He is the board chairman at St. Anthony Antiochian Orthodox Church. He belongs to the American Legion, the Slovak Club and two golf leagues.Mrs. Thomas is a homemaker and is a trustee at St. Anthony Antiochian Orthodox Church. She belongs to the Ladies Guild and enjoys bowling with other seniors.
