Lambert elected chairman of MSA

CRANBERRY TWP — The MSA Safety board of directors recently elected Bill Lambert as chairman. He will succeed John Ryan III, who will continue as a director of the company.

Lambert, 57, is the fifth chairman of the 100-year-old global safety products firm headquartered in the township.

Lambert became a director in 2007 and was elected president and CEO in 2008. He will continue in his role as MSA’s president and CEO.

Ryan, who joined the company in 1969, became a director in 1981 and was elected chairman in 1991. He is the grandson of MSA co-founder John Ryan.

As president, chairman and CEO, Lambert will continue to drive the performance of the company.

Lambert joined MSA in 1981 as a design engineer. He developed and received a patent on the Quick-Fill breathing apparatus accessory, which remains an important MSA product.

He has a master’s degree in industrial administration from Carnegie Mellon University and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Penn State University.

Christian Business Partners, which is a noncategory exclusive networking group, has expanded into Butler County with two new chapters.

• Cassandra Curry, feed sales and technical representative, of Butler attended two three-day training programs to qualify her as a FeedMaster Certified Feed Specialist for Southern States Cooperative.

The program is tied to the Southern States’ FeedMaster program and augments the knowledge of employees involved in advising the co-op’s customers on issues related to the feeding of animals.
