Remembering the past
The Rev. Daijho Ota, head priest of the Kotaiji Temple in Nagasaki, Japan, prays over a flame during a ceremony Tuesday at White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico. Tuesday marked the 60th anniversary of the world's second atomic bomb being dropped on Nagasaki. That bombing, and the one in Hiroshima a few days earlier, eventually led to the end of World War II on Aug. 15, 1945.
