Today - Dean Krelko, 43, of 1550 Grant Ave. Ext., Butler, was charged with writing seven bad checks for $312 that he passed at Friedman's Supermarket on West Brady Street.Tuesday - Billie McCune, 27, of 302 N. Main St., Apt. 6, Butler, was charged with writing five bad checks for $166 that she passed at Friedman's supermarket on West Brady Street.
Tuesday - Police are investigating a forgery case in which someone reproduced several checks bearing the name of Thompson Refinishing in Washington Township. The phony checks were used between Aug. 16 and Tuesday to buy items from five other stores and businesses.
3:14 a.m. Monday - A Moroccan national was arrested for being in the country illegally, following a traffic stop in Interstate 80 in Wolf Creek Township, Mercer County. Moulay Hamdi, 27, of Aurora, Colo., remains in the Lawrence County Prison pending an investigation by federal immigration officials.Aug. 20 - Several undisclosed items were taken between May 26 and Aug. 20 in a burglary at Anderson's Storage on Route 58 in Pine Township, Mercer County. Michael Hostutler of Victor, N.Y., owns the stolen property.
