Virginia D. Jewell
Virginia D. Jewell, 95, of Butler died at 11:40 a.m. Monday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born July 7, 1912, in Connoquenessing Township, she was the daughter of Murl and Mattie Doutt Dumbaugh.
She was a Protestant.
Mrs. Jewell was a homemaker. She was a life member of the Tanglewood Senior Center and of the Elks Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed knitting, crossword puzzles and ceramics.
Surviving are a son, Rex A. Jewell Jr. of Butler; two daughters, Billie J. Morabito and her husband, Vito, and Nancy G. Sarver, all of Butler; 14 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren; a brother, Max Dumbaugh of Pinellas Park, Fla; two sisters, Pauline Fair of Naples, Fla., and Frances Donnel of Butler; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Her husband, Rex A. Jewell Sr., died May 12, 1970. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, a great-grandchild, four sisters, and three brothers.
<B>JEWELL</B> — Friends of Virginia D. Jewell, who died Monday, Jan. 21, 2008, will be received from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St. Services will follow at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Ralph Link, retired minister, officiating.
