BETHEL PRESBY
Bethel Presbyterian Church, Routes 8 and 108, will hold a book study on "The Purpose Driven Life" at 8:30 a.m. Wednesdays and 7 p.m. Sundays. Mark Frailey will lead the program.
The spring retreat to Westminster Highlands on May 14 for youth members is accepting registration until Sunday. The youth group will not meet Sunday.
BUTLER CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE
A ladies' "Teddy Bear Picnic" will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the Butler Church of The Nazarene, 4410 Oakdale Road and Route 68W. Participants should take a favorite teddy bear. Lunch will be provided and a sign-up sheet has been posted.
Mothers will receive a gift at the 10:45 a.m. Sunday service in honor of Mother's Day.
CHRIST COMMUNITY U.M.
Members of the Disciple Bible Study Group of Christ Community United Methodist Church, 205 N. Duffy Road, will attend a weekend retreat Friday and Saturday at Jumonville.
The youth group will hold a Disney Movie Night from 7:15 to 11:30 p.m. Saturday at the church. Participants should take a snack to share.
Mother's Day will be celebrated at the 6:45 p.m. Saturday and 8:45 and 11 a.m. Sunday services. Blanket Sunday also will be observed.
The 2004 Confirmation Class and new members will be received at the 11 a.m. Sunday service.

Myrrh, a family group, will hold a concert of song and testimony at 6 p.m. Sunday at Community Alliance Church, 800 Mercer Road.

The Festival Youth Service will be celebrated at the 11 a.m. Sunday service at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. Jefferson St.
Mothers and women of the congregation will receive carnations at the 11 a.m. Sunday service.

FIRST U.M.

The Cokesbury Ringers will be performing under the direction of Kay Huemme during the Sunday services.
The youth group and the men's ministry group will serve breakfast to mothers at 9:30 a.m. Sunday in Epworth Center. Mothers will receive a potted plant at the end of service.

The church is participating in "Blanket the World in Love" and wool blankets are available for purchase during the month of May, in honor or in memory of a mother, grandmother or a special person. The cost is $5 a blanket. The blankets are donated to United Methodist Committee On Relief to be distributed to families in need. For information or to order a blanket, contact the church.

Mount Chestnut Presbyterian Church will hold a mother-daughter banquet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the church, 727 Old West 422. The speaker will be "Trapper John," a radio personality and author on household hints and pest control.
The church will honor mothers with a gift of appreciation at the 8:45 and 11 a.m. Sunday services.

Common Shop is set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in the fellowship hall. Common Shop was established as a way to share material goods with those in need. Nothing is sold. There are no income limitations or restrictions, provided that the articles are for personal use and not resale.
