Five Slippery Rock University football players have been included on the 25th Annual USA College Football Division II Pre-Season All-Americans roster.

Four seniors — defensive end Derek Walker, cornerback Anthony Saunders, linebacker Quindell Dean and wide receiver LaQuinn Stephens-Howling, along with sophomore return specialist Jaimire Dutrieuille, were all named to the exclusive list. Each put up impressive numbers in 2012. They include:

Walker totaled 37 tackles, including 3½ quarterback sacks.

Saunders led the PSAC in passes defended with 17 and added three interceptions.

Dean was The Rock’s second-leading tackler, making 79 stops, including four sacks.

SRU’s top pass catcher with 37, Stephens-Howling added 464 receiving yards and five touchdowns.

Dutrieuille averaged 28.6 yards on kickoff returns, including a 92-yarder for a touchdown.
