The Mershimers in 1959

Paul and Marguerite Mershimer of Slippery Rock celebrated 50 years of marriage with a family dinner and an upcoming trip.

Mershimer married the former Marguerite Lehett on Aug. 20, 1959, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.

They have one child, Kurt Mershimer of New Castle.

They also have one grandchild.

Mr. Mershimer is a retired teacher and insurance agent. He enjoys elk hunting, reading and traveling.

Mrs. Mershimer was a teacher in Butler area schools and Center Township for 30 years. She enjoys reading, golf, traveling and especially spending time with her granddaughter, Emma Grace.

The Mershimers are members of the Center Presbyterian Church of Slippery Rock.
