Florence Winchell

Florence Winchell of Harmony will celebrate her 100th birthday with an open house at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Evergreen Nursing Center.

The former Florence Katherine Boyer was born Aug. 27, 1909, in Lancaster Township. She married Theron Winchell on Dec. 24, 1933. He is deceased.

She has two children, Edward Winchell of Cottonwood, Ariz., and Alvin Winchell of Evans City.

She also has five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.

Mrs. Winchell was a homemaker. She enjoys quilting, crocheting, her vegetable and flower gardens, cooking and playing 500.

She is a member of Mt. Nebo Presbyterian Church.
