The Christies in 1949

Ralph and Lauretta Christie of Butler celebrated 60 years of marriage with a family dinner at Shakespeare's Restaurant in Evans City.

Christi married the former Lauretta Geibel on Aug. 30, 1949, in St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Butler.

They have five children, Ralph W. Christie Jr. of Highlands Ranch, Colo., Denise Geibel of Butler, Diane Christie of Butler, Darlene Hodgkiss of Butler and Dawna Lyngarkos of North East, Pa.

They also have 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Mr. Christie retired in 1987 from Armco.

Mrs. Christie is a homemaker.

The Christies are members of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church.
