Hannon 50th anniversary
Thomas and Catherine Hannon of Slippery Rock recently celebrated 50 years of marriage with a dinner cruise on the Majestic with their children and grandchildren. They are also planning an upcoming trip.
Hannon married the former Catherine Parke on July 25, 1959, in St. Joseph's in Athens, Pa.
They have three children, Margaret Hannon-Sellers of McKees Rocks, Timothy Hannon of Erie and Dr. Marilyn Hannon-Sain of Millstone Township, N.J.
They also have five grandchildren.
Mr. Hannon is retired from Slippery Rock University, where he was a professor of geography, geology and environment. He is a member of the board of directors of Butler County Historical Society, Knights of Columbus Council 13943, SRU's Institute for Learning in Retirement and several professional organizations.Mrs. Hannon is a retired dietary manager at convalescent homes in Butler and Lawrence counties. She is active in SRU's Institute for Learning in Retirement.The Hannons are members of St. Peter's Church in Slippery Rock.
