Staab 50th anniversary

The Staabs in 1959

Paul and Dorothy Staab of Butler celebrated 50 years of marriage with a mass at St. Fidelis Catholic church followed by a reception at Succop Conservancy.

Staab married the former Dorothy Darney on July 18, 1959, at St. George Church in Pittsburgh.

They have eight children, Dr. Jeffrey Staab of Rochester, Minn., Elaine Szwed of Butler, David Staab of State College, Daniel Staab of Lucas, Texas, Paula Staab of Portland, Ore., Thomas Staab of Pittsburgh, Douglas Staab of Seattle and Brian Staab of Portland. Another son, Mark, is deceased.

They also have seven grandchildren.

Mr. Staab is a retired IBEW electrician. He has a lifetime interest in antique and classic cars as well as model trains. He is an active member of many local and national antique and classic car clubs.Mrs. Staab is a retired hospice nurse. She worked for VNA Hospice Services of Western Pennsylvania. She is a Eucharist minister and member of the parish health ministry, a member of the Friends of the VNA Hospital Auxiliary and is a volunteer registered nurse at the Community Health Clinic.The Staabs attend St. Fidelis Roman Catholic church.
