Jurysta 50th anniversary
Joseph and Evelyn Jurysta of Butler celebrated 50 years of marriage with a family dinner at the Garden Gate Restaurant.
Jurysta married the former Evelyn Willey on Sept. 2, 1959, at the Roman Catholic Church of the Sacred Heart in North Walsham, County of Norfolk, England.
They have three children, Joseph Jurysta of Evans City, Charles Jurysta of Butler and Margaret Jurysta of Butler.
They also have six grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, one great-grandchild and two step-great-grandchildren.
Mr. Jurysta is retired from Lutheran Services and from Citizens Transport, where he was an armored truck driver. He is also retired from the U.S. Air Force.
He is a member of the AARP, Non-Commissioned Officers Association (NCOA), The Retired Enlisted Association (TREA), VFW Post 249, American Legion Post 778, National Association for Uniformed Services (NAUS), Air Force Sergeants Association (AFSA) and the Air Force Memorial Foundation.
Mrs. Jurysta is a retired VISTA volunteer and as a trainer for Tutors for Literacy in the Commonwealth (TLC) at correctional institutions and is retired from Shop n Save Kids Korner in Lyndora.She is a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, TREA and NCOA auxiliaries, AARP, the Ladies' Guild of St. John's Byzantine Catholic Church in Lyndora and the AFSA.The Jurystas are members of St. John's Byzantine Catholic Church in Lyndora.
