Stowe 60th anniversary

The Stowes in 1949

James and Nancy Stowe of Parker celebrated 60 years of marriage with a family dinner hosted by their children.

Stowe married the former Nancy Fryman on Nov. 4, 1949, at Bethel United Presbyterian Church in Slippery Rock.

They have three children, Charles Stowe of Parker, Valerie Pieper of Parker and Vonnie Maurhoff of Lovingston, Va.

They also have four grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.

Mr. Stowe is a retired farmer. He is a former township supervisor, township secretary and Allegheny-Clarion Valley school director. He also is a former church elder and trustee.

Mrs. Stowe formerly owned an upholstery business. She is a trustee and deacon at her church and a member of the Scrubgrass Quilters. She also is a judge of election in Allegheny Township.The Stowes attend Scrubgrass Stone Church.
