The Bittels in 1959

Wray and Gerry Bittel of Cranberry Township celebrated 50 years of marriage with a family dinner at Domenico's in Cranberry Township followed by a renewal of their marriage vows at St. Ferdinand's Roman Catholic Church.

Bittel married the former Gerry Schnellbach on Nov. 21, 1959, at St. Aloysius Church in Pittsburgh.

They have four children, James Bittel of Cranberry Township, Suzanne Platt of Harmony, Kenneth Bittel of Pittsburgh and Keith Bittel of Pittsburgh.

They also have 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Bittel is a semi-retired diesel mechanic.

Mrs. Bittel is a Hallmark merchandiser.

The Bittels attend St. Ferdinand Roman Catholic Church.
