Reese 90th birthday

Edward Reese

Edward Reese of Winfield Township celebrated his 90th birthday.

Reese was born May 13, 1920, in Stockdale, Pa.

He married his high school sweetheart Mabel Frantz on March 22, 1945, en route to a station change during World War II. Seven years after she passed away, he married Lois Brown on April 20, 1996, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Ford City.

Prior to his retirement in 1984, Reese worked in senior management for PPG Industries — 33 years in Creighton and 12 in Ford City. He served as a communications officer in the U.S. Army Air Force for nearly six years during WWII and has been active in the Masonic Fraternity for 57 years, 15 years as an officer. He has also been a member of Syria Shrine Temple for 49 years.

Reese has lived at Concordia for nearly two years since moving from his home in Lower Burrell.

He enjoys music, football and hockey. He is a member of Allegheny Valley Baptist Church in Natrona Heights.
