The Shearers in 1960

Don and Edna Shearer of Butler celebrated 50 years of marriage with a family dinner at Natili's South in Butler hosted by their children.

Shearer married the former Edna Murphy on April 22, 1960, at Grace Lutheran Church in Butler.

They have two children, Beth Shearer of Butler and David Shearer of Winter Springs, Fla.

They also have two grandchildren.

Shearer is retired from Shearer Insurance Agency (Nationwide). He is a church elder and sings in his church choir.Mrs. Shearer is retired from Butler Memorial Hospital. She is a member of her church choir.The Shearers are members of Oak Hills Christian Church.
